Nothing shocks a person more about being “church” than serving on leadership. Its when you serve on staff or elected leadership you discover that despite the facade of being “good Christian people”, sin is alive and well. Theologically, that is the point of Jesus’ death and resurrection. However, it can also become an embedded lifestyle of a congregation that abuses leaders and members alike.
