Personally, I don’t think pastors do enough biblical preaching. I don’t mean taking a verse, word by word, old style expository preaching. I mean that we don’t do what Jesus did and connect the Bible with real life and realize that we are part of God’s story, that there is still a conversation going on.
Thanks to David Fredin for his Garageband help, I checked out his blog and podcast and found this little gem. Now even though the Lybergs are Swedish, I don’t speak the language but this clip is in English. Somehow, I don’t think this is what Biblical preaching is about.
No information on who this preacher is or where this sermon happened and probably just as well. It certainly is way too much information for his congregation and it doesn’t do any favors for taking either Christians or the Bible with any seriousness. God save us from ourselves.

Pastor Steven L. Anderson has a number of videos on YouTube preaching against nearly everything from NewSpring church to Billy Graham.
For the record, I pee standing up except at my house (since I have to clean the toilets)
Cool, didn’t think you would show up at my blog 🙂 , since it’s a swedish (yes, your guess were right!) blog.
Just to balance the clip, I don’t belive americans necessarily are like that, f.e. I listen to you 🙂
Didn’t know you were of swedish descent! But it explains why you are lutheran… 😉
I have a whole geneology of the Lybergs, beginning with a Johan Lyberg who was imprisoned for “running ships aground at sea.” Apparently a remnant of their viking days. They came over to the state of Michigan. There don’t seem to be many Lybergs over here but we were all exciting when we were watching the Winter Olympics and one of the Swedish coaches was introduced as “Wolf Lyberg.” 🙂
Wait, what?! Talk about displacing one’s own insecurities. This man sounds incredibly insecure, possibly homophobic even.

Wow! That really takes bible preaching to a whole different level – not necessarily upwardly mobile.
