Yep, you will soon be able to go to Kentucky to see a “life size” Noah’s Ark, Tower of Babel, Dinosaurs and humans together the way God intended (not like Jurassic Park), and other weirdness. However, they are not going to be crucifying Jesus everyday like they do in Orlando at the Holy Land Experience.
Needless to say, I’m excited. I mean, after all, how can Disney match this?

I believe something significant has died in the last two years in American culture and the church that we are only beginning to grasp now. In politics, religion, generations, and faith, something has changed dramatically and our unknown future is going to be fundamentally different. What that will be, I don’t know but in the long run, it will be a good thing. In a sense, the 21st Century and its digital generations and language have taken the church back to the First Century. The affluent church of the boomers is giving way to a missional church quite unlike what we have know and thats a good thing, even if painful.

While its a little rambling, I try and paint the picture is that there is a global revolution going on in younger generations that involves freedom and creativity that is being powered by social networking and being fought by Boomers who want to stay in control.

Have a little free time tonight, so I’m going to repost the 2011 podcasts iTunes. I’m looking at a couple different new podcasts although recently I have been pondering Facebook, Twitter, and Personal Boundaries. In light of some of the recent NFL player tweets and the problems that has caused and pastors and other community leaders either offering TMI or community members become too nosy or too offended, I’m wondering if there isn’t a better way to go. Just talk to anyone going through a divorce and the problems facebook now causes because of you have friended or might choose to unfriend. So, we’ll see.

Very insightful reflection on the ongoing sexuality wars in the evangelical world and the ongoing effect it is having on connecting with postmoderns by David Fitch, pastor and professor at Northern Seminary, Lombard, IL, where I taught a couple preaching classes back when I lived out there. The challenge is to embrace a sexual ethic that is biblical (not literalistic), contextual, and Christlike that goes beyond the usual heterosexual/homosexual dividing lines. Not an easy task, by any means, but he lays some good ground work for where some denominations and associations (like Willow Creek) could learn from.
The post is well worth reading as is his blog.

It appears I have something going on with Podpress, which send my podcast feed and directory to iTunes. I am uploading a rerun of the last podcast as a test to see if it will populate to iTunes with this post.
If this doesn’t take care of it, I may have to create a new feed. That will take a few days to update to iTunes, so we’ll see. That’s what I get for taking so long to do a new podcast – revenge of the gods of podfade.

‪Fix You- Young@Heart‬†– YouTube.
Fix You is one of the most powerful songs for worship that was never written for worship that I have come across. What is really fascinating are all the covers to this great song. This version is from Young@Heart, a group of senior citizen singers reinterpreting rock songs. Now this may be the future of my generation in 30 years when we are all old and really gray. But to see people of my parents’ generation singing this song is powerful. Even more so when you consider that this was supposed to be duet – the singer’s partner died the week before but he sang anyway, oxygen tank and all.
